Evan Russell, who served in the "Jersey Shore Rifles", Company A, 24th Regiment of the 5th PA. Reserves, was a native of Lycoming County. His Civil War diaries are housed within our archives.

About the Lycoming County Historical Society

The Lycoming County Historical Society interprets the history of northcentral Pennsylvania through the study of major events as well as an exploration of everyday life.

Programs and Services

Lectures which include Coffee Hours (second Thursday of each month), 10 am, March-June, Sept.-Dec.; Society programs (3rd Sunday of each month), 2 pm., May-Oct.; changing & permanent exhibits, bimonthly newsletter, yearly Journal,
special events, YesterFest!, an old-fashioned family day, special exhibits by the Shutterbugs & Gathering Janes (quilters), research library staffed by the Lycoming County Genealogical Soc
