The Elk County Historical Society has many interesting Civil War Era items, such as a pistol owned by O. B. Grant and given to Ulrich Amacher. This gun has been authenticated through Smith & Wesson. We also have a Civil War Era rifle donated by the family of Dr. Bardwell, the Elk County Physician certified by the State to care for Civil War Veterans.
