About the Columbia County Historical & Genealogical Society

The Society collects, preserves, and increases public awareness of materials relating to the history of Columbia County, including family history. The Society also maintains a Museum of county history.

Programs and Services

The Society offers library research services, an extensive website, lecture series and trips, a museum, and large collections of books and manuscripts.

Showcases

The Civil War materials include items from the so-called Fishing Creek Confederacy and information about hundreds of soldiers and officers of the era.
