Location: Philadelphia, PA
Buried at Philadelphia's The Woodlands Cemetery is Captain Roberts Coles, Company I, 46th Regiment, Virginia Infantry, Wise's Legion, Confederate States Army. Captain Coles was killed in action on February 8, 1862 at the Battle of Roanoke Island, NC. Coles was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA.

Captain Coles' father was Edward Coles, former Governor of Illinois and a well known abolitionist. His mother was Sally Logan Roberts Cole, a descendant of Irish Quaker and William Penn's secretary, James Logan.
